Includes the following Civil War references: Fort Sumter, the Army of the Potomac, Fitz-John Porter, Fortress Monroe, the "Monitor," the Merrimac," the frigates "Cumberland" and "Congress," Antietam, Frederick (Maryland), the Confederates' attempt to capture St. Louis. Also includes the following Spanish-American War references: building hospitals at Fortress Monroe and Savannah (Georgia), the transport "Sedgwick," taking a cargo of mules and horses aboard the transport "Kintuck" from Seattle to China, and serving in the Philippines.
